Right. New things. Cover Bands and Parties and Such.

At the risk of being a little promo-ish (promoesque?) -I’m going to post about Bandaroo - a new idea from Partybands for finding the Perfect band in Australia. Got some great bands there – just trying to figure out marketing strategy!

First time we’ve tried entering Ozzie as a market, and it’s going to be an interesting journey!

Finito

So…it’s over. I’m home. Now…for four months of processing and figuring out what I’ve learnt…who I’m becoming.

I’ve met the most amazing people on this trip – and that’s made it. The chaotic environment of Mosaic made us stick together like nothing else. Loved it. Best 4 months of my life so far

Now I get to be a tourist in my own country and look at Aotearoa with new eyes. Pretty exciting.

Thanks for journeying with me on this blog!

Well, I’m back in the airport waiting for my domestic flight. 4 hours to go.
It’s so weird to be back with kiwis again; the way they hold themselves, they way people behind counters are way friendlier, the brown faces, the kiwi voices (I nearly hugged a Måori lady who sat next to me this morning), the Samoan faces, people walking and driving on the left and the beanies and hoodies (It’s really cold!).
I fell like a tourist in my own country. It’d odd.

Home soon…

12 08 2007

It’s sunday, and I leave tmrw. Mixed feelings really. I’ve been here so long that living in the city, being around the other interns, and being an intern … has become to feel normal. The pace of the city permeates you…I know I’m going to find it weird adjusting to a different pace of life. It’ll be nice I think.

Lot’s to tell many of you when I’m home. Met some pretty amazing people, some of which you may actually get to meet one day…

Lotsa photos here. Go on. Click. I dare you.

Snakes and Spiders

8 08 2007

As with most of the readers of this blog, I come from a nice wee country which has no snakes. None. Not even little ones. I also come from a country with one, kinda over rated, deadly spider (apparently) – which no one has ever really seen.

Today I went for a hike with my friend Nate up in the San Gabriel Mountains (big range of hills near Pasadena). We saw this little fulla. He’s not poisonous, but he looks like a Coral Snake – which is one of the most deadly in the area.

Then, that night, I went walking up these other hills, near Chino, with the Chino High School kids. I was wearing my trusty jandals. Saw a nice view. Only thing is, while walking, we saw not one – but two Tarantulas.

Yeah. In the wild. Running free. Around my jandal clad feet. They were kinda cute, in a deadly, Arachnaphobia – I want to kill you – kind of way.
