Right. New things. Cover Bands and Parties and Such.

14 10 2009

At the risk of being a little promo-ish (promoesque?) -I’m going to post about Bandaroo - a new idea from Partybands for finding the Perfect band in Australia. Got some great bands there – just trying to figure out marketing strategy!

First time we’ve tried entering Ozzie as a market, and it’s going to be an interesting journey!

Ventura and beyond!

I’ve been staying with Tom and Suzie Brock for a bit of a holiday before the internship finishes. Tom is an old school, long time surfer (they used to live in Hawaii). They’re the coolest. They really have been spoiling me (I have a little basket beside my bed with chocolate and goodies). We traveled up to San Luis Obispo, checked out every surf spot possible and had a really good time It was a huge change of pace from the city, and it’s funny how much I’ve come to think that seeing 40 billion cars every day is normal.

This is Rincon. We checked it out. Looked awesome, but the swell was only 1/2 ft. So. Yeah.

Oh hey, we went to Wicked. It was rad. The best (and only) musical I’ve ever seen, but so much fun. Laughed so hard I cried. They got a standing ovation at the end too, so, it must have been good. More photos but they’re on my camera so I’ll put them up later.

I have the coolest job

This is from my crew back home.

iPhone

7 07 2007

ok i’m high up in the California mountains at a camp and what am I doing? Playing on the iPhone (not mine unfortunately). It’s really cool. It does everything they say it does with style and I want to eat it, it looks that good. Not sure if it warrants the 600 dollar price tag tho. I’m also getting rsi from the keys and squinting at it. Good fun. Loving it here but also really looking forward to coming home and getting into life there and catching up!

The Most Fun Yet

6 07 2007

Hey, yesterday was the 4th of July, and it was the funnest day yet. Not really because we got up at 5am so we could stake out a park for a mosaic picnic (big event with about 350 people)….

Look, it’s me a 6am…all patriotic…

It wasn’t even because the 4th of july was actually a lot of fun…or because the picnic was a great success…

It was because of this:

The Transformers tower….of DOOM.

After the madness of the 4th of July picnic, the organising, the feeding, the general sillyness that resulted we had the opportunity to watch the 4th of July fireworks from

The Transformers tower of DOOM.

I know.

Scary.

The transformers tower is actually an apartment building that my friend Austin is working on rebuilding. It’s 20 stories high and is the highest tower in hollywood; and it’s plastered in 20 storey high posters advertising the transformers movie. It’s not even near finished yet (lacking in the wall department for one thing)…so it was a bit of an adventure. To be honest, travelling in a wooden elevator was an experience.

This is the wooden elevator. It’s made of wood. Twenty stories in woody, the elevator, is like nothing else. Except, maybe, 20 stories in a wooden elevator.

Then we had to climb the elevator of…ah…doom?…
